Reporting under the Republic of Lithuania Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers

According to the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers of the Republic of Lithuania, you may report:
  • A threat to public safety or health, or to a person’s life or health
  • A threat to the environment
  • Obstruction or unlawful influence on investigations conducted by law enforcement or the administration of justice
  • Financing of illegal activities
  • Unlawful or non-transparent use of public funds or assets
  • Acquisition of assets through illegal means
  • Concealment of violations or obstruction of the determination of their extent
  • Violations listed in the order approved by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania, aligned with the scope of EU legal acts under Directive (EU) 2019/1937
  • Harm to the financial interests of the European Union, as defined in Article 325 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and related EU instruments
  • Violations related to the internal market, as defined in Article 26(2) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, including breaches of EU competition and state aid rules, and actions aimed at gaining tax advantages that undermine applicable tax laws
  • Other violations affecting the public interest

You may submit a report if you are:
  • A former or current employee, or a person contractually associated with Umega group, AB companies (consulting, contracting, internships, apprenticeships, volunteering, etc.) or engaged in pre-contractual work relations
  • A person who is a member of the administrative, management, or supervisory body of Umega group, AB
  • An individual working under the supervision or direction of contractors, subcontractors, and/or suppliers related to Umega group, AB

Ways to submit a report:

Through the internal whistleblowing channel – by completing the Violation Report Form and sending it via email to: praneseju.apsauga@umegagroup.com.

  • Who, when, how, and what kind of violation is being prepared, committed, or has been committed
  • The date and circumstances of when you learned about the violation
  • Your name, surname, personal ID number or date of birth, place of employment, and contact details so we can reach you
  • It is mandatory to state that the report is being submitted under the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers of the Republic of Lithuania

Reports are assessed according to the “Procedure for Submitting and Handling Information under the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers” approved within Umega group, AB. The assessment of the information in the report and the implementation of functions specified in the above procedure is carried out by the legal counsel of Umega group, AB.

 

We ensure the confidentiality of the person and the information provided.

The confidentiality requirement does not apply when:

  • The person submitting the report requests in writing that confidentiality be waived
  • The person knowingly submits false information

You must contact the competent authority directly if any of the following circumstances apply:

  • The violation has significant importance to the public interest
  • Immediate action is required to prevent or stop the violation due to potential significant harm
  • Company leadership or others in contractual/employment relationships with the company may be involved in or responsible for the violation
  • Information was submitted via the internal channel, but no response was received, no action was taken, or the measures taken were ineffective
  • There are reasonable grounds to believe that using the internal channel will not ensure confidentiality or that the violation may be covered up
  • The organization does not have a functioning internal whistleblowing channel
  • The person can no longer use the internal channel due to the termination of their employment or legal relationship with the company

Whistleblowers may be eligible for protection, incentives, and support in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers and other legal acts.
Knowingly providing false information does not entitle the individual to protections under the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers. Individuals who knowingly provide false information are held accountable under the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
